Cherished Spaces, owner and principal, Dennise Mukhar, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, NJ and continued her education at the FIDER accredited (Foundation for Interior Design Education Research) Interior Design Program at West Valley College in Saratoga, CA. She studied under several reputable designers such as Diane Hurd, Denise Carey and the President for the local chapter of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and HGTV expert advisor, Joseph Hittinger. Dennise recently joined the Benjamin Moore Design Advisory Board and is certified by NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) in kitchen and bath planning and guidelines. She continuously seeks opportunities to stay abreast of the latest design trends by attending trade shows and participating in industry seminars and webinars.
Dennise has always been an active member of her community and volunteers her skills to local charities. She has created beautiful settings for local school events and once a year she partakes in the Los Gatos Historic Home Tours event, supporting The Museums of Los Gatos, CA. She also supports the American Cancer Society in San Jose by donating her talent for fundraising purposes, creating visual displays and design for special events.
Dennise enjoys quality time with her husband and two children, especially while traveling. Having had the privilege of experiencing great design throughout the world, Dennise brings this first-hand education and wealth of exposure to every project. Her passion for the history of design, along with her love of people and their cultures, make her designs rich with diversity and harmonious to all.
